Frequently asked questions

For a chance to send a delicious Cadbury chocolate bar to someone special, you will need to scan one of the QR codes which can be found on our posters popping up all over the country. This will take you through to our Secret Santa Postal Service where you will be shown if there are bars in stock ready for you to send. If there is, you will be taken through steps to send your Secret Santa chocolate bar by our wonderful Cadbury postie.

Subject to availability, you can choose from a range of Cadbury chocolate bars, including our original Cadbury Dairy Milk bar (110g), and our Oreo (120g), Wholenut (120g), Caramel (120g), Fruit and Nut (110g) and Plant (90g) bars. We also have a seasonal product available from our winter range, our Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland bar (100g). All allergens are clearly labelled on the website and recipients are able to check the ingredient list on the back of the packaging.

We’re keen to invite as many people as possible to be a Secret Santa which is why we’re giving 20,000 people the opportunity to send one bar for free, subject to availability (number of bars sent is limited by phone number). To allow as many individuals as possible to send a chocolate bar secretly, a maximum of five free bars can be sent to the same address. If you miss out on the free bar allocation, you have the option to enter our prize draw for a chance to win a Cadbury hamper filled with goodies.

We’re excited to announce the Cadbury Secret Santa will run from the 4th November to 22nd December so keep an eye out for a poster near you.

Anyone aged 18 or over with an email address in the Republic of Ireland with a smartphone or QR scanning code device can send a free chocolate bar secretly to someone special in the ROI. All individuals are very likely to need a valid mobile number to verify entry into the experience.

Please allow up to 2 weeks for your Secret Santa gift to be dispatched via An Post delivery, and up to 6 weeks for delivery to its final address. As our gifts are sent out via An Post, we are unable to guarantee their final delivery date and delivery may take longer during busy periods. We are also unable to track our gifts once they are out for delivery with the An Post and therefore cannot accept responsibility for any damaged or lost packages.

Yes, Cadbury Secret Santa Postal Service is free of charge (both the chocolate and postage is covered) for up to 20,000 people.

This means that when you scanned the QR code, our Postal Service had reached its maximum number of free chocolate bars for that day. Our postie is currently stocking up on more bars, so keep your eyes peeled for another poster and scan a QR code again soon to have another go – this can either be the same poster as the one you used previously or a different one. If you aren’t able to send a bar from one of our posters, you can enter our prize draw for the chance to win a hamper filled with Cadbury goodies.

This year, our Secret Santa service is more widely available than ever before and will be popping up in cities and towns across the country. If you haven’t spotted one of them yet, information on how to spot them is on our website. Keep your eyes peeled!
